Martin,
LAV 75.1 - Looks like both 32 & 64 bit decoders are installed.
Other videos play fine, so this isn't a consistent problem.
On my server which has both NLite and NextPVR, only NLite has the playback issue.
Also have a clean W10 client with NLite (just upgraded it from W7) and it has the same playback issue, other recording skip/play just fine.

Sorry since IMO the UI client protocol is working fine and even you can play on a Roku you appear to have a local issue. I don't know if sub is planning on making nlite run like NextPVR.exe I feel it it overkill, UI clients are supposed to be pretty dumb. Perhaps try the original nlite and see if libvlc works better.

Also there is zero reason to believe all digital recordings are the same and so I am happy to check the other recording.

Let's see if sub finds anything obvious, then I'm happy to spend more time ruling things out at my end. I have 2 servers setup, one for testing, and have several clients I can use for testing. (all Windows 10 pro now)
I don't like messing with the codecs, but I do have others available. Since the issue is random and other recordings on the same device/channel playback fine, I'm a little puzzled where experiment at the moment.

Again, no problems here. This time was from my Windows test server last was from my Linux prod machine from a NAS so you could see some 10 seeks at the beginning better.

This is nlite so it uses a different minimal config.xml in the Nlite folder but here it is.

When I update NLite, I delete the entire directory first, then extract the files. So my NLite config.xml is created when I run NLite. (Which matches your decoders)
It also has an <AspectRatio> section, which looks unrelated to the issue.

What about the NPVR config.xml, would it have anything to do with streaming to NLite?

I doubt it. The servers doesn't know or care whether the client is nlite, Roku, uidroid, knewc, or soon macOS. That's why I asked you to check other UI clients

I suspect I know what is happening. It's gonna have to wait for my weekend though, when I've got a little more time available to investigate.
