Sorry if I'm being a bit dim here, but how do I get GB-PVR MediaMVP Server to work?
I have WindowsXP + SP2, Microsoft Net 1.1, Hauppauge MediaMVP version 2.2.22229 (although, incidentally(?), MediaMVPStart.exe identifies itself as v.2.2.22170.0...hmmm) and GB-PVR version 0205. I have no analogue TV/Capture cards, only a HP Nova-t and a Nebula DigiTv (can't wait for DVB, sub!!
The Hauppauge software works as intended through my MediaMVP, and I can view and (thoroughly) enjoy GB-PVR on my PC.
If I understand correctly, the procedure for operating the GB-PVR MediaMVP Server is:
1. Verify that the HP server is connecting properly.
2. Run Hauppauge Media MVP/Hardware/stop.bat to suspend the server.
3. Run GB-PVR Media MVP Server.
The problem is that I am failing to stop the Hauppauge server. After (2), all I get on my tv is the Hauppauge boot screen with the message "failed to contact GUI Server", and (if I start the GB-PVR server) the message box "This process acts as a server.......etc" on the PC.
Windows Firewall has been configured to allow both HP Media MVP and GB-PVR as "exceptions". I have also tried with the firewall disabled, to no avail.
The silly thing is that I have successfully operated GB-PVR via the MediaMVP before upgrading WinXP using previous HP and GB-PVR versions. I'm being dumb - please help! TIA.
