remote access is not enabled

I just wanted to play around with Nextpvr. I set it up on a headless Linux server (Ubuntu 20.04). But now I'm a little stuck as I can't access the WebUI. When I enter admin/password in login screen it shows "remote access is not enabled".

For sure there's a workaround for this, but I can't fine anything about it via google. Could somebody help me out please?

Perhaps your server IP is not a private IP? Can you confirm and I can give you a workaround.

If you run on an IP VPS yes typically that is an Internet IP. Being headless you would need to edit /var/opt/nextpvr/config.xml and change these

The Password is the md5 hash value of your password and PinMD5 is the upper case md5 hash of your PIN. The default is 0000 but on the internet make the PIN at least 6 digits.

Permission denied

If you can't figure that out you probably should not be making NextPVR available on the Internet.
