I haven't found any issues yet, so it appears to be working. I'll let you know if I find anything. Thanks for the diligence...

Great. Remember to remove that registry setting.

I have a problem which might be related to this one.  Happy to move to a new thread if you prefer.

Things are going well with my Linux server.  Recording and live TV are great.  The only time I have a problem is when time shifting a program - when I start watching a recording before the show has finished.  Just playing seems to be fine, but if I try to skip at all: click the timeline; click the forward / backward arrows; use the arrows on the keyboard, the playback becomes erratic.  Nlite seems to loose track of where it is up to.  Sometimes I can no longer watch the recording at all.  The performance appears similar on the current nlite, older nlite, or playback within a browser.

Any ideas from this brief description?  Otherwise what other evidence would you like me to gather?  Where do I find the nlite logs?

Thanks

Steve

Definitely better not to mix thread, it is only slightly easier for you not, for support and not for others looking for solutions to a specific problem.

Perhaps you are not understanding sub's logic on the timeline, he has explained it to me and it relates to the position in the scroll back buffer but i don't find it natural. For UI Clients there is an option

<OldStyleTimeLine>true</OldStyleTimeLine>

which makes it clock and program based.

I'll spend a bit of time looking at skipping within in-progress recordings, and improve it for the next build.

(it generally used to work, but there has been changes around the way in-progress recordings get streamed, and I don't think the clients have kept up with some of those changes)

sub,
NLite seems to be working a whole lot better for me, but I'll pay more attention and let you know where I see any issues.
I often see issues with the NextPVR client where I skip around (forward and backward), pause, then can't resume unless I skip back/forward or exit. Usually the situation is the comskip segment goes past the commercials and I have to skip back. I'll then sometimes pause and can't resume.
Let me know if you want logs (I have a lot of recordings running at the moment, otherwise would post one).

@sub
I paid more attention this evening!
I started watching the 6pm Newshub recording at about 6:10 or so. It played happily. I used both the left arrow icon and arrow key to skip the padding to the start of the news. It kept working for a while, then I tried to use the timeline slider to skip some ads. It went backwards in the news and would not go forward at all. Eventually it stopped.
We switched to watching live TV. That went well until I tried to click the timeline to go back a little and instead it went forward.
Hope that helps! Steve

I suggest you try clients like, NextPVR.exe, Kodi and uidroid for now if playing in-progress recordings is important until nlite implements some of the enhancement sub is talking about.
