Er, no, I did not realize v4 had to be uninstalled first. That's no doubt it.

Uninstalling doesn't delete all my settings and recordings, does it?

You can just stop the service and restart the V5 service.

A full uninstall will delete your settings yes and note your recordings and schedules are not imported into v5.

I just took npvr.db3 and the config.xml from V4 and put them under user/publicNPVR-data, then reboot the system
I got exactly the same setup in V5 (tuner, recorgings, schedule, epg setup...)

Being able to copy the database really depends on the tuner types, but this is well documented in many posts on this forum.

OK, I appear to have everything working now. I don't know if I can express how much of an improvement this is over the previous navigation method. Thank you so much, sub, for addressing this shortcoming!

If I did have one further suggestion to offer, it would be to consider making the back skip increment smaller-- say maybe 10 seconds? I assume most people will use this new navigation by right clicking (forward) through commercials until their show returns, at which point they'll left click (back) until returning to the end of the last commercial and then just let it play until their show resumes. But with forward skip set to 60 seconds and backward skip set to 30, you could potentially have to sit through 29 second of commercial viewing. If back skip were 10 seconds, that max would be 9 seconds. Just a thought... I'd be curious if other users here agree or not?

I have the old remote control (black) so no rigth/left click, I just pause, move cursor ahead to the time I want , then do the same back to skip advert

Yes Martin you are rigth with the correct -pin NscriptHelper -reaname worked as expected, so I am now fine with V5

Ah, but the old black remote does in fact click (it took me months of using the remote before I discovered this quite by accident). Just press near the left/right/top/bottom edge of the trackpad area.

That said, I believe on the old remote sub has implemented the skip ahead to be triggered by left/right tap (not click)... so just tap lightly near the left or right edge to move the recording in that direction. This works wonderfully-- tapping is easier and faster than clicking in my opinion.

Thank you very much Dongna. I did not know that, it works well . The only issue for me is that I am left handed using the remote with my right hand.
Clicking is more easier for me than soft touch on the Pad =)
