I've updated to the latest build. But I was seeing this issue with the prior build as well. Also running the latest NLite (3/2).

If I try to play a live recording from NLite (client machine), I get a blank screen. The progress bar appears, then disappears on timeout. I can still exit the playback from NLite.

Playback is working on the server.

What do you mean by "live recording"? Do you mean recording that is currently in-progress?

I think he means in-progress, the file has the growing flag.

More details.
I have 2 Hauppauge tuners on my server:
Hauppauge WinTV 885 ATSC Tuner/Demod (ATSC)
Hauppauge HD-PVR (Colossus2)

With NLite, I can play an in progress recording on the Colossus2 (using a Dish satellite). The 885 is using an antenna.
My work around for now is to use Emby Theatre to plan an in progress recording if I don't want to wait for the recording to complete.

I see a similar thing here for remote in-progress recordings with nlite, my black screen is worse, I get a not responding wait too. For me it happens on both HDPVR and ATSC. This repeats on every open while it is in progress as soon as I stop the recording they are playable.

The same recordings do open in-progress on uidroid so it is probably not the backend.

@artmetz note that as of v4.7 Emby decided to drop the current API and you will need to choose between Emby and NextPVR for scheduling and recordings.

Thanks. I'm not using Emby to schedule recordings, nor planning to. Mainly as a way to watch recordings from Playon and elsewhere. I setup an Emby library to point to the NextPVR local directory, then I have the option of using the Roku, FireTV or PC as well as NLite. As time permits, I'll play around more with JellyFin, but it's still too much in flux.

Ok playing via the file system should still work, but I thought you had to run tasks to load libraries..

Even without Emby or Jellyfin you can use a UI client on the Roku, FireTV or PC.

>> Yeah, I've setup NLite, etc on the Roku as well. Just haven't committed to it yet because my PC remote is much better, plus there's other functionality beyond what Roku offers.
