To confirm I meant on NextPVR.exe desktop, not the browser clients.

I wasn't aware there was a separate executable for that rather than running it in a browser. Found it in the installation directory and ran it and yes that works okay. It was already set up as specified and appears to solve the quality problem. Thanks again.

Great. The confusion started in the first post when you wrote the "desktop" client and you didn't notice on the link to players that I gave you that we were taking about a dedicated player. There are lots of other clients linked there via UI clients too that don't need transcoding.
I guess this becomes a wishlist to add number switching to the basic web application. Martin

That was my original request...

A couple of things: A remote session via the master NPVR executable does not respond to channel number entry Recording requests via the same route are highlighted in the guide and schedule but don't happen At least they don't on my setup but maybe I've missed something... Do you mean RDP? It is basically expected users will use nlite (the UI client for Windows desktops) on Windows remotes and that supports numbers too. There are a few possible issues with RDP.

I mean the master server is using nextpvr.exe and the remotes like http://192.168.1.15:8866/ I hadn't heard of and can't find nlite.exe(?) anywhere within the nextpvr install files? TB

If you had drilled down on the player settings link I gave you you would have found this link https://nextpvr.com/download.html and it shows all the UI clients, nlite is the Window client. Also a forums search for nlite would find the same link https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=56938
