Thanks for the reply Martin. Yes, you are right, I didn’t notice the sub thread area when I posted. So the GPU acceleration only helps in playback; not in the recording transcoding side of things?

Yes, it is used for transcoding recordings too. For the live tv side of thing, Martin is correct that direct play capable clients are the best bet, since they always give faster/smoother operation than when transcoding is required.
