It's giving you all the listings that are available in the broadcast. Unfortunately they're only required to transmit like 6 hours of listings in North America, so you'll usually only get somewhere between 6-24 hours of listings.

Elsewhere in the world they often transmit a full week or more of TV listings.

Most people in North America end up getting a Schedules Direct subscription. Otherwise you can look at some of the utilities like zap2xml etc. (though you'll spend a lot more of your time setting this up, than the cost of a SD subscription)

Aha! They are all mapped to just the file itself. I didn't know I needed to map each one to the corresponding channel in the xmltv file. I wil l research more on how to do that!

Usually just just have a single file, with multiple channels, and each would be mapped appropriately.

If you used 'automap' this would usually do it all automatically - but obviously it needs the xmltv file to have channel names that match etc, otherwise it has no way to know which channels go with which.
