[Solved] Xmltv EPG off by 2 hours

Hi. I’m one of those people who appear to have an issue with the EPG being out of sync with what’s being aired. I have seen previous threads on this where it’s assumed that the OS time zone/daylight savings setting are incorrect. I have checked the time zone in lubuntu and all appears to be correct. I have tried changing the time zone in kodi to no avail.  I have experimented with changing the time zones inlubuntu to 2hrs ahead and still the problem persists. I am based in the U.K. (currently BST). 
I have also tried the “[-2:00] hack when importing the m3u but my iptv provider returns a not authorised error when trying to import the guide that way. 

I should also add that the tv guide in the nextpvr configuration webpage is also incorrect. I am accessing the page from a different pc on the same network where the time zone is also correct.

Please could someone advise the steps I need to go through to provide enough information for a possible fix? Which logs are required from where, and after what actions?

Simply changing the timezone doesn't help because the server works in UTC. You'd have to provide some sample XMLTV entries, but inevitably the source will turn out to be wrong. zip it up and post it and I can probably give you a sed script to preprocess it.

Thanks, Martin. How do I do that? My provider has only provided me with a link to the EPG. Happy to send that to you. Will that work?

From the Linux command line try

curl -L link -o xmltv.xml

You would need this to preprocess the file anyway.

Martin, If i insert the full URL (including the bits which have username=xxxxx&password=xxxxx after "-L" I get "-o: command not found"

Trying wrapping the url in single quotes if that doesn't work PM me the link, but I dislike PM's because the forum delete function is a pain.

OK. That looks like it's done something. Couldn't tell you what though. There is an xmltv.xml file in my home directory but it is blank and is zero bytes.

You are going to have to figure out the curl line (it did work fine here) and then you will need to create the PostUpdate.sh file like this and map xmltv.xml to your channel instead of the url
