Hi All,
I have just started using NextPVR (really nice piece of software!) and have come across the following issue. For some of my DVB-T2 channels NextPVR fails to obtain EPG information via DVB-T2. Either the EPG information for those particular channels is completely missing or there is only EPG information for a few hours.
I know for a fact, that much more EPG information is available for those particular channels - my TV, my Blu-ray DVB-T2 Recorder are able to obtain the respective EPG information via DVB-T2 (they are not connected to the internet, so they cannot obtain this information from other sources). I can also exclude that fact, that something is off with the USB-TV tuner, that is directly connected to my NextPVR machine. If I use the software provided by the manufacturer of the tuner (Hauppauge WinTV10), I am also able to obtain all the EPG information (even when the respective machine is not connected to the internet).
So, I know for a fact, that there is EPG information that is transmitted via DVB-T2, that NextPVR does not pick up. That could be either due to a configuration error from my side or because there are some issues with NextPVR in this regard. Maybe you can help me? I attach the respective log files.
Further information:
Operating System: Windows 10
NextPVR version: 6.0.0.220904 (note, that I encountered the same problem with version 5.2, so this is not something that was introduced by the very recent release)
TV Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV-soloHD DVB-T/DVB-T2
Region: Italy
At least the following channels appear affected (those are the ones I checked, there may be more):
1) RAS ZDF HD (Freq: 578000 SID: 30 (H.264)): should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more according to my other devices), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"
2) RAS SRF 1 HD (Freq: 578000 SID: 31 (H.264)): should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)" or no EPG at all (black screen?)
3) RAS SRF zwei HD (Freq: 578000 SID: 32 (H.264)): should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)" or no EPG at all (black screen?)
4) RAS BR Fernsehen Süd HD (Freq: 578000 SID: 34 (H.264)): should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)" or no EPG at all (black screen?)
5) RAS Kika HD (Freq: 578000 SID: 35 (H.264)): should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"
Note, that not all RAS (our local broadcaster) channels are affected, e.g. RAS ORF1 HD, RAS ORF2T HD, RAS ORF III HD, RAS ORF Sport+ HD, RAS arte HD, RAS 3sat HD, RAS ZDF neo HD appear to get the EPG.
Also note, that WinTV10 (which manages to obtain the EPG information) uses the same frequencies+SIDs (so it does not appear to be due to the fact, that they use channels with the same names but different DVB-T2 parameters).
P.S.: To make the log file easier to interpret, I kept only those TV channels that are of interest to me. When I did my initial tests with all channels I got close to 300 TV channels, most of which I never watch - the problem appeared there as well (and there might be even more channels affected by the problem). But since I do not care about those channels, I thought it would be best to not have them in NextPVR (and therefore also not appear in the log file, presumably). One very strange thing that I saw there, was, that the channel RAS ORF1 HD, which would have EPG in the reduced channel set, would not have EPG when I kept all channels. I do not know if that helps in getting to the core of the problem, but it seemed very curious to me (??).
P.P.S.: I would rather not want to use the alternative of having to rely on XLMTV or Schedules Direct, given that I know for a fact that DVB-T2 already offers the required EPG. Of course, those would be workarounds, but I would first like to figure out, what causes the abovementioned problems.
