Yes it is old and you have missed 15 updates. Consider updating to the current version we really can't support that old a version.

The trouble is we don't know how you installed NextPVR so I can't guarantee that an update will work using the installer. It might be better to remove C:\NPVR and let the installer do everything properly.

If this doesn't work, zip up the C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\logs directory and post it.

It was already reset to that.
However, your guidance led me to see where this was, which enabled me to change it back to the information that used to work. Now I can log in again.
Thanks.

However, a lot of other information must have reset or gone missing also, as I've apparently lost all of my channels and who knows what all else. Thus, I still have no EPG data.

I can maybe search, when I find a nice block of time, for how to fix this, as if I were starting from scratch, but if you have any quick advice or can quickly point me to the right place in the directions, that would be much appreciated.

I have attached the zipped logs, as requested, in case that still helps.

Any thoughts as to how I got so messed up in the first place would also help, so to help me avoid it in the future.

I imagine you're all busy too, so I understand if you leave the rest to me.

Thanks much, Kevin

I will try to update.

I can also try removing and reinstalling if needed. Problem is, then I have to figure out how to set up every detail all over again (which is already partly the case, apparently). Since my expertise is far removed from IT things, it takes me a lot of time to figure it all out, and I only occasionally can find the needed blocks of time to do that.
Which is why I'm extremely grateful for your assistance.

Don't do a full removal the data is not in C:\NPVR the data is in a different folder.

My guidance on removal is difficult because you installed manually, do you run a service?

Simply downloading the installer and using it didn't seem to change anything. It still had the old version number. After fully deleting C:\NPVR, then the install process updated to version 6.0.0 (220904).
I can still access all of my recordings, however, there are no channels, etc. In fact, if I go into settings, even though I have the menu on the left, the main screen is simply blank, no matter what I push. Thus, I do not know how to set things up the rest of the way.

Not sure if this answers a previous question or not, but in my Downloads folder (since I couldn't find the installer on my computer and had to download it) I found a file, NPVR.zip dated 2019. I don't remember where that came from. Seems like I've been using NextPVR longer than that, but perhaps not (I've changed programs a few times since Microsoft discontinued MediaPlayer, because I run into a problem I can't figure out, so I go searching for something new). Thus, wherever I found that zip file might be how I received the program without the normal installation you expected to find.

In any case, if you could help me figure out why I can't setup, or at least direct me to the right place, I would appreciate it.
Some files attached, not knowing whether or not that would help.

All your tuners show zero channels so you need a rescan. You are running from a good folder with a good version now.

But I can't get to the place to do that. In settings, I see the menu:
  • About
  • General
  • Devices
  • Channels
  • Transcoder
  • Access
  • Guide
  • Logout
Doesn't matter what I click on, nothing happens, just a black screen.

Wow! Not sure what that means, but it did.
Probably can't continue next steps until tomorrow.
Thanks for your help!
