I searched the forum but couldn't find anything. Is there a way for me to change the display name of the channels? This is from an IPTV source. On other apps, the channel names are the mapped names of the channels.  The names on nextpvr are long, and the same displays using the kodi addon.

You might not need to do anything except wait for the next release of NextPVR which should be soon. I know sub recently added tvg-name support in testing. Can you show us a sample of the #EXTINF line of one of those channels from your m3u file to see if that change will do what you are looking for.

It should be in the m3u file not the xmltv file.

Here it is.

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="5.star.max.eastern.us" tvg-name="5.star.max.eastern.us" tvg-type="live" group-title="US" tvg-logo="https://media.tv4.live/5.star.max.eastern.us.png",5 Star Max (East)

That one will actually be the same, your provider has an issue.

I see. In other apps the channel name is 5 Star Max (East). In nextpvr the name is 5.star.max.eastern.us.

Yes there is a friendly name on the #EXTINF line but most time when other parameters are available they should override this for consistency. IPTVSmple is the defacto standard I figure and on the wiki https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:PVR_IPTV_Simple_Client you can see tvg-name Corresponds to 'display-name' field in the EPG xml file.

I've made a tweak to the logic to improve the behaviour in the next build. It should give you the '5 Star Max (East)' you're expecting

Thanks. Very impressed with the software coming from an HDHomeRun with a cable card. Donation sent.
