I have 2 HDPVR2's and I have 2 questions about NextPVR. First is if say you are recording from channel 3 from 8pm-9pm and there is another program set to record on channel 3 from 9pm-10pm, will it keep using that same tuner?  and the second question is if you are say recording from channel 3 from 8pm-9:30pm and you have another recording set to record off channel 4 from 9pm-10pm will it know to use the other tuner or could it over take the currently recording tuner?

Thanks for any help, newguy2022

Not aways. It depends on the priority of the recordings scheduled.

Yes, it'll know the first tuner is in use and use the second tuner for the other recording

What does the priority need to be to get it to use the same tuner from the same channel? Or can there not be overlap (what I mean by that is like the 8pm-9pm would record from 7:59pm-9:03pm, and the next would start at 8:59pm on that same channel).

If they overlap they on the same channel then they recording with full padding and the blaster command is only issued once. Recording priority can impact this as much as tuner priority.

What does the priority need to be for them to overlap?

You can't force them by priority as sub posted it depends on various factors, but if two tuners are available and there are no conflicts two recordings should be created but tuners might not be optimized (in your opinion) and you might not get the padding, (as they are always optional) you'd like.

If you can create a specific problem scenario using real recordings it would be better to discuss it with logs.
