Hello,

I've been running NextPVR for many months now and it's been working great.  Got up this morning to view recorded news and nothing has recorded.  Went to the guide and nothing is there.  Poked around some and see that log showed "No /var/opt/nextpvr/scripts/PreStartup.sh".  Went to /var/nextpvr/scripts and there that entire directory is empty.  I made no changes to anything from last night to now... yesterday's recordings are there and working fine.  Just no guide or recording capability this morning.

Fyi, running Ubuntu Linux 20.04.1 LTS.

Any ideas on what I can do next?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Typically scripts aren't necessary and the folder doesn't exist by default.

The issue is you are using a significantly old version of NextPVR

2022-11-22 07:45:11.136 [INFO][1] Version 5.1.0.201216

and you will need to update NextPVR to v6 to deal with changes in Schedules Direct over the last two years. After you update try and EPG update and we can see if another Schedules Direct change is impacting you.

Thanks for your quick response! I've now updated to version 6.1.1.221106.

I've forgotten how to update the guide manually so I changed the update time such that it would update automatically. It didn't work after crossing the update time.

Can you point me to what I need to do next?

Again... thanks very much for your help!

On the Settings page there is a button to update the EPG. If it doesn't work then upload the zipped logs from the button on the same page.

Thanks again for your quick response... with your guidance I was able to update NextPVR and then the guide. Seems to be working again now.

Is there a notice that we should update the NextPVR version or should I just be checking the forum more diligently? If there's been an email its entirely possible that I just missed it.

Thanks again for your help....

If you subscribe to the announcement thread in theory you should be getting an email, but I am not sure that it works.

it should do - I can certainly see the emails being successfully sent in the email providers logs.

Hello...  Looks like things have gone off the rails again.  Thought I had everything set up fine but today is a different world.  I have 2 programs set to record news channels every morning and this morning they weren't there.  Checked the guide and the EPG listings were mostly blank (can't remember if some were populated, but for sure not the channels I use for news recordings).

Hope I haven't messed up things even more, but I then emptied the EPG and reloaded.  It updated a few channels but not many.  I then went to the devices list and re-scanned for channels on all 4 devices (I'm using a Hauppague 4 channel PCI card).  I selected only the local channels I know normally come in.  Emptied the EPG list again and reloaded.

Now the EPG listing looks weird... for example, for channels 18 and 36 the output looks like:
18.1  - PBS logo - shows are listed
18.1 -  PBS logo - no listings
18.1 - PBS logo - no listings
18.3 - PBS logo - shows are listed
18.3 - no logo - no listing
18.3 - no logo - no listing
18.3 - no logo - no listing

It looks to me like the EPG info is somehow messed up but can't figure it out.  If I remember correctly when things were working correctly there was only one line for 18.1 and one line for 18.3 (and all the other channels) instead of multiples.

I'm using version 6.1.1.221106 and have double checked my login and password info for Schedules Direct. Also tried using NextPVR from a different browser (no change).

Any help you could offer is greatly appreciated.

First don't rescan unless channels are wrong. After you rescanned, you probably forgot to Automap the channels to Schedules Direct.

Focus on gettting one tuner working. On the Devices page go to the all but one tuners and hold control to delete the channels from the tuners with the trashcan (don't delete the tuners themselves).

Automap the one remaining scanned tuner if you haven't done that yet.

Then reopen each of the other tuner and copy the tuner when prompted.
