Hi All,
for some of my DVB-S2 channels NextPVR fails to obtain EPG information via DVB-S2. The EPG information for those particular channels is completely missing.
I know for a fact, that much more EPG information is available for those particular channels - my TV, my Blu-ray DVB-S2 Recorder are able to obtain the respective EPG information via DVB-S2 (they are not connected to the internet, so they cannot obtain this information from other sources). I can also exclude that fact, that something is off with the USB-TV tuner, that is directly connected to my NextPVR machine. If I use the software provided by the manufacturer of the tuner (Hauppauge WinTV10), I am also able to obtain all the EPG information (even when the respective machine is not connected to the internet).
So, I know for a fact, that there is EPG information that is transmitted via DVB-S2, that NextPVR does not pick up. That could be either due to a configuration error from my side or because there are some issues with NextPVR in this regard. Maybe you can help me? I attach the respective log files and the transport streams for the relevant channels.
Further information:
Operating System: Windows 10
NextPVR version: 6.1.1.221106
TV Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S2 (DVB-S/DVB-S2)
Region: Italy
The following channels (of interest to me) appear affected (those are the ones I checked, there may be more):
1) NITRO (Freq: 12188/H/27500 SID: 12061 (MPEG-2)): no EPG at all (black screen?)
2) 3sat HD (Freq: 11347/V/22000 SID: 11150 (H.264)): no EPG at all (black screen?)
Funnily enough, the standard definition version of the channel 3sat does have EPG:
3sat (Freq: 11954/H/27500 SID: 28007 (MPEG-2)): EPG works (!)
As a workaround: Would it be possible to use the EPG for the SD version of channel 3sat for the HD version (they have the same program as far as I can tell, just different resolution).
Transport streams:
1) NITRO: https://app.box.com/s/pmb8ucj7jeu85bdi4wyrql13nn188hrs
2) 3sat HD: https://we.tl/t-Oe5iBsFBx2
3) 3sat: https://app.box.com/s/q9z2cm6zb4u3pekhhzikhomh147klob2
(3sat HD file was too large for app.box free plan so I had to use WeTransfer instead)
P.S.: Note, that this issue is probably (?) separate from the issue I report elsewhere (https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=64117 --> this still needs to be fixed), since this issue affects DVB-S2 channels on a different tuner (and not DVB-T2 channels).
P.P.S.: I would rather not want to use the alternative of having to rely on XLMTV or Schedules Direct, given that I know for a fact that DVB-S2 already offers the required EPG. Of course, those would be workarounds, but I would first like to figure out, what causes the abovementioned problems.
