Keyboard controls for audio

While I love my 500MCE, I miss using a remote like when I had my 350. But, when I find what works with my 500, I'll perhaps buy one. Until then, what keyboard controls the stop, start, pause etc. when in main screen mode? I can't figure out how to operate it and the using the mouse doesn't work for audio for me.

I'm not aware of what those buttons are shown on that screen. I'm guessing its just some image tipstir has put there that doesnt really do anything.
