For information about IP addresses DHCP etc probably best to search the Internet. Your ISP probably won't be provide you with a static IP I am talking internal addresses.

I found the user manual for your router https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/downl...dr3600/and you should look at section 4.9.2 and 4.9.3 on DHCP. Looks like it will be possible to continue to use HDHR mode.

Otherwise the BDA tuner driver is something you would probably have been using with WMC, from your logs you even used them last year with NextPVR. That would be the tuner that shows ATSC in settings. You could move over to this tuner if you can't figure out how to set DHCP.

In the meantime to avoid failed recording I suggest restarting your NextPVR server shortly after you restart the router.

OK, I will check out the section of the manual that you are referring to thanks! It sounds like its about "reserving" a static address for a particular device, which I think I saw somewhere. I will read up on it!

"Restarting the NextPVR server" means just relogging into the web interface correct? You know that makes a lot of sense, because today I had to do a restart of my PC and when I logged back in, the NextPVR desktop app was saying it "could not communicate with the server", and it was not resolved until I think opened the web interface and logged into the server. Is that what you mean by restarting the Next PVR server?

Thanks again, Martin! Really appreciate the help mate!

Lou

No you restart the service by either rebooting your PC or going into the Services app on the PC from the start menu. There will be a service called "NextPVR Recording Service" right click it and click restart.

I am not sure what NextPVR.exe does if the server IP changes, it should be using localhost. I also don't know what the server does if it leases a new IP while it is running Sub would need to tell us. Better to assign it a static IP on the router too.

Ah, I see. Yes, whenever I restart the router I will also reboot the router PC and/or restart the NexPVR service as well. I hope this works!

In the meantime still studying up reserving an IP.

Thanks again!
