OK, I've been using NEXTPVR for over 10 years.  I'm using Schedules Direct for the guide.  I use a Hauppauge Colossus 2 tuner via Verizon FIOS box.  It all works.  Only thing is, I cannot figure out how to add a new channel to the guide.  I somehow got it in there using the wrench in settings>channels, but the haupblast channel number is not correct.  I used to be able to fix this stuff in the desktop app, but it just takes me to the web app.  I know this is likely something stupid, but I need to know how to add a channel to the guide.

Is it in the new EPG listing?

THIS WAS A MISTAKE! READ ON.

I MAY have figured this out, sort of. I had to use the wrench ("spanner" I believe in New Zealand) to create a new channel. Then I used the approach in the wiki to "import" the haupblast.ex and channel number. IMO, this was pretty clumsy. There has to be a better way to add a few channels to the guide.

Actually, I used the "update" button, not the "import" button. After I used the spanner to create a channel, then I went through "devices" to get the haupblast.exe and the channel number in there. It's not actually too bad if you know how to do it.

This did not work for reasons that are now obvious. If you use the spanner, it trashes the entry for that spanner. Then I proceeded to ball up the whole thing via settings>devices>local recorder (hauppauge siena crossbar). I managed to get all of the haupblast channels to be the same. Fixing this would have been tedious, so I trashed the whole thing and did an import from schedules direct, setting the appropriate stuff and leaving channel alone. It imported pretty much everything with the correct channels and haupblast settings. Then I went through and deleted the ones I did not want, did a guide update and I am now pretty much OK. This was much less tedious than trying to fix all 240 channels.

I still think there should be a documented way to add a single channel. I may be blind, but I don't see it.

There are multiple ways, but you didn't answer my question.

That's because I don't know what that means. If you mean "is the channel you want to add in the EPG listing", of course it's not, unless you're talking about a listing other than the guide itself.

You could have asked. You posted "I'm using Schedules Direct for the guide" so is the channel you want in the EPG listings for your zipcode from Schedules Direct? If so, and even if you don't know, you should be able to just hit scan, unselect all with the box by "Number" and then add the new channel and save. I generally backup the database before clicking scan or save to avoid duplicates.

I do my HDPVR from Linux using an Extra and maybe the scan isn't the same so I haven't tested this on Windows, but that is how it should work.
