I'm using a dvb tuner. I tried to use the browser, kodi and a video player (using localhost address). In all cases the result is the same, that process increases little by little ram consumtion until critical level. I have logs of device-adapter0.log and nrecord.log

I've not seen this here. Which process is it - NextPVRServer or DeviceHostLinux?

The memory is in dotnet so NextPVRServer. Killing DeviceHostLinux doen't free up much.

it's nextpvrserver.dll process. The strange thing is that after 1-2days after the last reset the process consumes a normal level of ram, 400-600mb more or less

Is there a specific activity happening when you see the memory increasing?

The heaviest memory usage usually occurs during the EPG update, and it can take .NET a while to free that memory back to the operating system.

Yes, the visualization of a channel. As soon as I stop the visualization the ram consumption stops. To empty the ram I need to restart nextpvr-server service

So you're watching in Kodi right? Is timeshift enabled in the plugin settings in Kodi at the time? (to help me narrow it down to which of the two streaming methods are being used at the time)

I assume you're not seeing the same issue just recording?

Live TV in kodi is effective recording + one of the two streaming methods, so trying to narrow down to where it could possibly be.

live tv method is real time. If I use kodi or browser in localhost to view a channel, the result is the same.

edit: i reinstalled nextpvr and now the process goes high to 1400mb of ram, then it goes low to 800mb. For now the process is stable. I don't know what the problem was.

I figured out at least one scenario that was causing me major memory issues. It seems in UI client mode, NextPVR wants to load images from the whole Pictures folder into memory. I had added media/shows at one time for fun as a a screen saver but it didn't work well but I left the folder

In my case, NextPVR was loading 14,000+ files in the background with a load time of several minutes.

2023-03-21 13:42:34.609 [DEBUG][97] Preloaded: /var/opt/nextpvr/media/shows/Clarice.fanart.jpg
2023-03-21 13:42:34.756 [DEBUG][97] Preloaded: /var/opt/nextpvr/media/shows/Clarice.jpg
2023-03-21 13:42:34.817 [DEBUG][97] Preloaded: /var/opt/nextpvr/media/shows/Clarice.landscape.jpg

Since I removed the Pictures folder things, my memory is staying much lower.

Perhaps there are some other instances of image caching that cause other problem?

Are you going into Pictures screen when that happens?
