The Oscars started recording 7 minutes late on Sunday.
Same thing happened yesterday with FBI on CBS (KPIX).  The recorded program was only 56 minutes, when it should have been a bit over an hour (I think 63 minutes, with a few minutes before/after).
Most shows record on time, though.

My PC is normally asleep and wakes up for recordings. The problem seems to be showing on the first recording of the day so far.
For example, FBI:International and FBI:Most wanted last night recorded in full, without starting late.

I have checked that my clock is properly synchronized. Not sure what is causing this.
I did upgrade my motherboard last week. However, I also upgraded NextPVR.

It appears your PC is not resuming from sleep on time, NextPVR is doing it's stuff, but it doesn't have any control over the actual Windows process. Check you Windows and BIOS sleep settings because at other times including overnight it keeps going through a sleep/wake cycle which is why some recordings work.

You might also want to change the NextPVR Recording service from delayed startup, perhaps a device on you system is extremely slow to power up.

Code:

Martin,
Thanks for your response. What Windows settings would you suggest I change ?
Same question for BIOS.

As for having a device that's slow to wake up, none that I'm aware, certainly nothing that would take 7-8 minutes. This is a very modern box with i5-13400 CPU, Z790 chipset, very fast PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, 10 gig networking. The slowest device would be the Hauppauge QuadHD TV tuner, which is probably PCI Express 1.1 .

Sorry nothing specific that a Google search wouldn't find.

I have been Googling, but not finding anything relevant.
As far as Windows settings, they shouldn't have changed, since I cloned the old OS partition to the new drive and got a new product key for the new motherboard. And the timers worked properly before I switched motherboard.
"Allow wake timers" is enabled in the power profile, which hasn't changed.

I am not aware of any BIOS setting that affects the Windows wake timers. Nothing a Google search found, in any case.

If it's always a few minutes late waking up, as it seems to be so far, could it be a BIOS bug ?

Perhaps cloning settings that are BIOS related like sleep isn't such a good idea. Maybe try this

 powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

and also check any power settings on your 10GB NIC. One of your logs had NextPVR starting before the network.

Thanks, I'll try and reset the scheme.

As far as network not being available, I was experiencing very weird problems with the old motherboard. Network going offline was one of the symptoms. It wasn't the NIC - I swapped it with another machine and it was good.
I replaced every component in the system with a spare part, short of the motherboard, but couldn't resolve it. So, finally I bought a new mobo, CPU and SSD and installed them last wednesday (3/8). I haven't seen any network mishaps since, or any of the other issues (BSODs). But I do see these programs not recording on time...

Here is one network error

2023-03-15 10:40:39.769 [WARN][1] Error discovering HDHR devices: The operation has timed out.

That would normally mean NextPVR started before the network was ready, but since it is deferred that should not be the case.
