I am getting the following error when trying to start NPVR Recording Service:

When I look up clr.dll, version 4.8.4614.0, I get this:

Which takes me here:  KB5022083 Change in how WPF-based applications render XPS documents - Microsoft Support

There are some workarounds to disable KB5022083 and go back to the old way it worked, but with all kinds of security warnings.

Why are you trying to install V4?

Hi,

I am not trying to install anything. I noticed the other day that NextPVR was not recording videos. I have been using it for years without issue. I found that the NextPVR Recording Service was not running so I tried to start it and this is the error it throws. I am running the latest version of NextPVR, but to make sure I reran the installer and it made no difference in the results I get.

That error message indicates you're running NextPVR v4. We're on NextPVR v6 now.

I'm having problems installing version 6, which I was certain I already had on my PC.

If I do a search on "NextPVR version 6 download windows", I am directed to this page: https://www.nextpvr.com/download.html  That page shows download links for Windows, Linux, MacOS, and Docker. When I click the Windows link, I am taken to https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=59388 . It tells me "To install NextPVR on Windows, simply run https://nextpvr.com/NPVRSetup.exe. Any time you need to update to a new release, you can just run this again." I click that and it runs the installer.  But, my installation does not change, and I cannot start the recording service.

I have been running NextPVR successfully for years until about 3 weeks ago.

Did you uninstall your old v4 install? There is no inplace upgrade between v4 and v6
