I still have problem. I am trying to stretch 16:9 video with black bar on left and right to 4:3 display. It seems the display area is fixed to 16:9. All aspect ration change is done within this area. Is that correct?
Hey is there any way I can set the video start up aspect ratio to 16:9?
I put this in the <AspectRatio0> field but it seems GBPVR doesnt actually look at this setting until after F7 is pressed?
Thanks!

I purchased and installed a Hauppauge PVR 150MCE into a Windows XP Pro SP2 box last night - the first couple of times on live tv the image was full screen, however I believe I may have hit something or done something because the feed now comes up as totally square, leaving black bars on the right and left (on an SDTV).
Would this be due to the aspect ratio settings?
Not at home to try it out right away, but would please my wife more to have a solution before then
BTW - the install process from start to finish was soooo easy and smooth I couldn't believe it. I only had a few minutes to play around but GBPVR seems like an awesome application.

Some video decoders force directshow to maintain the orginal aspect ration, for example the nvidia decoder (and probably others). In the case of the nvidia you need to go into the properties of the small system tray icon and set it to 'anamorphic', and then it behaves correctly.
it's funny you should mention that - I did install the nvidia decoder (which i shoudl have mentioned in the original post - but I thought that it only controlled DVD playback (as it was set in the DVD settings).
My video card is an ATI Radeon 9600 - if the nvidia change doesn't do it i'll see if there's a setting in catalyst that will do the trick.

I spent quite a lot of time to try the diff. aspect ratio setting.....and finally...its the decoder setting problem!
Anyway, thanks. After changing it to "anamorphic", I can get 16:9 full screen Live TV!
