Playback Momentarily Freezes

I did a search but did not find this specific issue, so apologies if I missed it.

Playback will momentarily freeze anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes after starting or changing channels, then resume.  I am using NextPVR as both the backend and add-on for Kodi v20.2 on a Win10 PC.

I dropped the pertinent log below.  This behavior does not occur with my Raspberry Pi units running OSMC / Kodi which use NextPVR / Win10 PC as the backend.

Is this with an IPTV source? If so, it's almost certainly a case of the connection not keeping up.

It's very common for these types of IPTV services to be oversubscribed, and not able to deliver the bandwidth required to smoothly stream a given channel at all times. They can often be largely ok, with generally smooth playback, but the occasional dips in bandwidth leading to bits of the stream arriving late, which causes these types of pauses.

I'm using HD antenna feeding a Hauppauge 4-tuner OTA card in the Win10 PC.

Could be signal problems. ie, missing bits of audio/video due to corrupt signal at that time. If you do a recording, and play back the recording, do you see these same problems?

The quadHD has internal splitters which reduce the signal, which can lead to signal issues if you don't have good signal source.

This happens on all channels, usually within a minute or two of tuning it in. Not a huge deal, more of an annoyance. Everything else is working fine.

If you can do a recording, then supply the recording, I'll check it.

If the issue is only on your Windows 10 Kodi then it probably is a Kodi issue and needs Kodi debug logs.

Yeah, Martin is probably correct. Sounds like it might be Kodi playback issue.
