Yesterday I finally got my fiber internet service connected. They also supplied a new router; Giga Spire Blast model u6.2. Specs look like it's a real winner. However, I have a small problem with it.
From the NPVR server homescreen, if I select TV Guide, Recordings, Scheduler, etc., it takes 20 seconds before I see the results. Using my old Netgear router it's almost instantaneous; using either the Comcast or Fiber ISP line. It appears to me as though it has to do with the Giga Spire setup.
I'm not a network specialist, and there's a ton of settings there.
If anyone can suggest what area I should be looking at I'd sure appreciate it.
Thanx.

Are you sure your recording service is running? If not there is about a 20 delay in lots of screens

Yes, the recording service is running.
Actually, all I do is swap out the routers without stopping the service and the problem shows up.
At first I thought it might be the fiber service, but I get the same results using the cable service.
I thought about just keeping the old router, but the new one is faster, and it came with the fiber service.
I just don't know what possible setting to look at.

I can't see any obvious reason in the logs.

I doubt there will be a NextPVR setting if all you did was changed networks. ie, probably something like Windows name resolution, or mapped drives or something.

I didn't mean a NPVR setting, I thought it might be a router setting, since that's the only thing I changed.
I'll try comparing settings between the routers.

Just a quick update:
I discovered that if I disconnect the ethernet line then the NPVR response is immediate again.
It's got to be some setting in the Giga Spire router that's slowing it down.

With my fiber internet service I got one of these too. However I requested to have it configured for bridge mode and used my own router.

I think there are a lot of settings with the Giga Spire Blast but some of the settings are only configurable on their end.

I am gonna try to get in touch with technical support tomorrow. I also discovered that I cannot set port forwarding with this service. Don't believe that's in the router though, as the router works OK with the cable ISP.
It's a shame, I was so looking forward to fiber service Smile

There shouldn't be any "routing" taking place on your local network. All local traffic just needs to go through an Ethernet switch. How many ports are on the new router?

Also check the network settings if the system is running Windows. Windows often defaults to "Public" network settings when it sees it is connected to a new network device (like your new router). That sets the Windows Firewall to block ALL incoming connections, which would most likely block access to the Recording Service. Change that to "Private" and things should work better.

Settings -> Network & Internet -> Properties -> Select the "Private" button. (That's in Win 10. I'm not sure if Microsoft also screwed that process up in their never-ending quest to change/move every setting in Windows 11). Wink

There Are four ports on the router.
The network setting was already set to private.

Funny thing though, if I issue the IP config/release, the response is fine.
I did discover if I used the web app the response is fine when I look at the TV guide.

As for my other comment about port forwarding not working, I found out that's due to the fact my ISP uses the CGNAT protocol.
There's no easy way around that.
