Failed Recording - ABC Stream

Hi,

Just wondering if someone could advise about a failed recording using ABC stream as per:

I record Rage from the UK and have been using NextPVR with the above m3u8 for a year or so without issue.

For the second week in a row the recording for Rage Vault has failed at around 17.02 - 28.01.2024.

From the enclosed log appears to be related to the token issue?

VLC was playing the same stream and was still playing at 17.30.

Appreciate this seems to be related to the ABC stream, anyway NextPVR can restart the recording with a new token.

It only accepts zipped logs. (like it gives you when you click the 'Log Files' button)

It looks like one of the web servers (either mjh.nz or ABC) was not responding to requests. It did retry for a short period of time, and eventually gave up.

You could try setting <M3U8DownloadTimeout> in config.xml to something higher than the default (8000). It might help.

Thanks, is there anything to extend the retry period in NextPVR?

If I amend to 1 minute (60000), will NextPVR remain stable and not crash?

I doubt it'll cause NextPVR to crash, but I dont think it'll help making it that big. You could maybe get some benefit out of doubling it to 16000.

This setting is how long it'll wait when asking the web server for some data on a single request.

Keep in mind this entirely unrelated to retrying, which happens for 90 seconds. ie, it retries when it gets no data. You'd be better off having it able to have multiple retries in that 90 seconds. With 60000 it'll effectively get a single retry, then be over the 90 second limit.
