Apologies for the newb questions, but I'm trying to determine if NextPVR is the solution for me.

Current setup:
HDHomeRun Connect Duo with the SiliconDust guide data / DVR
NVidia Shield running Kodi
PBS Live addon for Kodi.

Goal:
Timeshift PBS Live streams.

---
I'm almost perfectly happy with my current setup. I get most over-the-air stations without any issues except for PBS. I installed the PBS Live addon in Kodi and I can see multiple PBS streams when they're airing. Kodi is actually good enough to merge my HDHomeRun and PBS channel listings into a single guide, so I can browse what's currently airing. If I want to view HDHomeRun recordings, I switch out to their app and that's OK. I'd like to be able to schedule recordings and timeshift the PBS stream if possible. The guide data is there in Kodi, so I would rather not have to pony up for schedules direct if I don't have to.

Is there an existing guide to setting this up to timeshift IPTV Streams?

All unencrypted IPTV URL's will timeshift. Unfortunately although PBS is non-commercial, with a few exceptions they have limited DRM and do need Widevine for playback.

I think WNET https://wnetdt.lls.pbs.org/out/v1/045645...index.m3u8 might be open in some places in the US and the Matt Huismann guide https://i.mjh.nz/PBS/all.xml.gz might have data for it.

Thanks for the reply. I seem to at least have some channels and guide data using info from the thread below. After removing the IPTV Simple client, I can see the record option in Kodi.

https://www.reddit.com/r/MattHuisman/com...odi_addon/

Playlist: https://i.mjh.nz/PBS/all.m3u8
Guide: https://i.mjh.nz/PBS/all.xml.gz

I'll probably end up having to pay for schedules direct, but that's not the end of the world if I can get things working.

There are still a few open. Not sure how the addon is able to recording the with Widevine requirement.

You don't need Schedules Direct for your HDHR channels though, I wrote a utility to grab the Silicondust EPG and create an XMLTV file.

Bah.....channels are listed and recording option enabled, but they don't play.

"One or more items failed to play. Check the log for more information about this message"

Playing the channels locally fails as well.

Logs don't seem to have any smoking gun, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

Disabling NextPVR client in kodi and enabling IPTV Simple client lets me view PBS again.

No smoking can, NextPVR can't use that m3u file because of the Widewine but it will load it, it assumes you are loading a normal m3u file.

Maybe this isn't doable - addon page seems to indicate that Kodi Wildvine support is used - https://www.matthuisman.nz/2020/10/pbs-l...dd-on.html

I'll check with the dev and see if he can shed any light.

I was hopeful because the dev had posted:
" yup, i have a playlist here: https://i.mjh.nz/PBS/all.m3u8 which has all the non-widevine channels "

Unfortunately, that wasn't playable with NextPVR
