Colossus 2 and nextpvr

Earlier I noted that you need a patch I posted if you use an extra, maybe you never followed up on that.

For fun, I ordered a Colossus on Ebay to see how it works for me with Linux, shipping to Canada is pretty slow though. My audio extractor works with AC-3 from HDMI and SPDIF so I will be able to test that too, once I hear AAC working.

Awesome! Its working now!! quite a delay on it, almost 15 seconds. it exits fine and its perfect!
for others with the colossus the file i had to modify was called AVOutput.h, found in the patched HauppaugeUSB folder.

update: still have closing and opening issues. it cancels the stream, but it seems i still need a hard reboot to use the card again.

Yes mine is that slow too but I use my HDPVR2 for quality recording with AC3 and a network grabber for faster Live TV so the delay is hidden most of the time. When I get the Colossus working I will start work on figuring out the MythTV stuff to shave some startup seconds, hopefully the 7 seconds for waiting state.

Zip your AVOutput.h and attach it and I will have a look. If you run ps -Af and hauppauge2 is still running then the patch isn't working. Killing the task will avoid the reboot.

That looks correct. Assuming you did sudo make install too I'd like to the see the zipped logs and the extra script too.

Seems OK too sorry I can't help anymore than that if the write isn't generating an error. It also looks like each channel.stream.start from kodi is generating data for the 6 times the Colossus was started so hauppauge2 isn't hung, maybe just much slower than Kodi likes.

finally have this working reliably now. I've been trying to figure out a way to enable channel changes with lirc... do you have it working on your hdpvr?

Yes, I have two extra tuners that need LIRC and both work just fine, however I don't use the Hauppauge IR port if that is your real question.

it was. i wouldnt be able to use it anyway as my box is RF. Comcast has a nice web remote though.
