Hi!

I am using LibreELEC (official): 12.0.0 (RPi5.aarch64) with next-pvr service (Version: 6.1.5.231022) and next-pvr client (Version: 21.1.0.1) all on LE.
I am using IPTV playlist with multicast addresses and I have an issue that live stream is not working while recording. When I cancel recording than live stream is working.

When I click on live stream channel while recording I get instant message Playback failed: One or more items failed to play. Check the log for more infromation about this message.

I checked logs and in logs there is an error:

Code:

2024-06-04 15:45:33.592    [ERROR][236]    Unable to StartStream():
2024-06-04 15:45:33.592    [ERROR][236]    Unable to start live stream for timeshift: Unable to find available capture device
<rsp stat="fail">
  <err code="11" msg="Failed to start stream: Unable to find available capture device" />
</rsp>

Is there any limit for only one stream at a time or what am I missing?

I also tried messing with npvr.db3 and add a few more IPTV devices but without success still the same error. Does anybody have any hint what can I check to force kodi using more than one stream at a time?

Thanks in advanced,
regards Peter

As I noted on the Kodi forum IPTV devices don't support multirec even if the logs appear to show it trying.

I think there might be an issue with udp multicast which sub needs to look at assuming your server allows multiple connections. Can you use vlc to stream while recording?

Hi!

Yes, I can watch the same mcast channel/group/stream in VLC while rpi5/kodi is recording this channel or just playing it. There must be me something in next-pvr client or server, if there is something wrong with the stream I want to play, client is trying to play it for some time (i guess timeout) and than pops up the error msg. In this case, if I want to play stream while recording the error msg pops up instantly.

Peter

OK, sub will need to look into why it is failing for UDP multi-cast in that multi-rec mode, StartStream@8 is different.

I tried this here and saw the same issue. I've made a tweak to the logging for the next build so you can more clearly see the underlying error more clearly. In this case the message was "Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted"

Generally with IPTV NextPVR just uses separate feeds to the source, rather than trying to share the same incoming feed for two clients (a recording session and a live session in this case) because people typically have 100's (or 1000's) of channels, and very rarely are they wanting to use the same channel at the same time and it's not worth having a special case just for those few occasions. (ie, most of the times that IPTV device is needing to use separate connections to the source because they're different channels)

In this case it's complaining that that UDP source is already being used. I'm looking at options.

I've put a fix in for the next build to correct this.

Hi sub!

Thanks for your time for looking into to the problem and thanks for very quick fix.

I would just like to clarify that watching any multicast group/channel/program does not work for me while recording.

Regards,
Peter
