Dear all,

I could swear that this worked, but at the moment, when I record something e.g. 90 minutes long in order
to start watching it 15 minutes shifted, the playback will be interrupted after when playback reaches the
hypothetical end of the file at the time of start of playback (in this example 15 minutes). Then, when I
playback again (there is the option to restart at the playback break), it will run again until the hypothetical
end (in this example roughly 30 minutes).

Do I mix up with tvheadend, which I used before or did that work in the past with NextPVR?

BR,
Carsten.

You didn't note the client, but for now since you mention TVHeadend I will assume Kodi. I haven't tested this in pvr.nextpvr for a while but for in-progress recording it shouldn't even stop at the "hypothetical" end of the file unless you get too close. If it is Kodi I'd need to see the Kodi debug logs.

Oh sorry, I forgot. No this happens in Webplayer and AppleTV app. I can try with Kodi later today and
you're right I used Kodi a long time before I switched to tvheadendclient, but this has lot's of issues.
The NextPVR client is much better (despite that it seems to have this issue now). And as said, I think
it worked before.

Scenario with Webplayer: (1) go to EPG (2) select a show and "record once" (3) go to recordings and
press play. As this takes some 10-20 seconds, you will quickly see the result.

In this case, what logs could help? Server is in Docker, client currently Safari on MacOS or the app on
tvOS.

BR,
Carsten.

Sub needs to support both those so he will need to tell you if they are supposed to work. Do things improve if you turn thumbnails off?

Ah, ok.

No, switching thumbnail generation doesn't change something.

I have to be more exactly. I noticed that when the playback reaches the hypothetical end, playback stops. But the time in the lower right
is still counting, as the recording continues although playback pauses. Pressing Pause/Play twice will restart but always stop at the hypothetical
end. This happens for HD channels that playback directly and with SD channels that seem to get transcoded.

BR,
Carsten.

Post the logs showing the situation and I'll see if any reason stands out.

It is easily duplicated in the web browser for me. Because ffmpeg is playing the file it calculates a duration and I think it stops then. Perhaps you need to pass the URL and &growing=true

Code:
2024-06-09 18:24:55.199    [DEBUG][8]    [FFMPEG]: Input #0, mpegts, from 'file:C:\Users\Public\Videos\Dragons Den\Season 17\Dragons.Den.S17E04-1.ts':
2024-06-09 18:24:55.199    [DEBUG][8]    [FFMPEG]:   Duration: 00:00:12.38, start: 92687.419000, bitrate: 15353 kb/s

I thought it was already doing this. It was at some stage in the past.

Yep, I can see it was disabled when I was testing something in the past. Fixed for next build.
