Hi.  I have a Windows 11 computer running NextPVR v4 (for some reason, v5 wouldn't set up properly) with a Ceton InfinitiTV 6 card. Everything was working fine up until a couple of days ago, but now NextPVR won't record anything.  When I go to Show Status, it says it's recording on every channel, but nothing is being written to the disk.  I tried restarting the recording service.  That helped with this happened the other day, but now restarting the service and rebooting my computer don't seem to be helping.

When I go to the setting on my Ceton, everything looks like it's working.  Signals being receiving.  Signal strength okay, not great (I have a card in another computer that looks like it's working fine).  Looks like I'm getting a signal lock even though past recordings come up as "No errors, but no data delivered.  This is usually because the device failed to lock a signal".

Anyone have any ideas what the issue might be?  Feels like it's much more likely to be a software or Windows service issue than anything.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

Ceton support was dropped because basically they stopped development back with v4. I know right now CableCard is being shutdown since there is not longer a legal requirement to provide it, perhaps that is what you are seeing and you need to check with your provider.

It is very unlikely that the it is a v4 issue, but if it is it won't be fixed anyway. You would need to check with other clients you use. If you want to try with the current version of NextPVR there are hacks like the Ceton proxy and my Ceton Extra, but you'd be better off just getting another old supported CC device on ebay, kijiji or FB market from Silicondust or Hauppauge.

It doesn't seem like it's a provider issue because it was working fine last night and the hardware seems like it's fine.  I know I'm dealing with largely obsolete technology, but something must have happened likely with the software since I have another device in another computer that seems to be working fine.  And yes, I know I could get an HDHomeRun or something similar, but my main goal was to do this for the Olympics, so I don't want to spend more money if the issue isn't the card and I have the same problems with another device.

I feel like this is more likely a software issue than anything and maybe there's some Windows process or firewall getting in the way.  But I know that support at this point is non existent.

Can you point me to the V5 proxy info?  I'd rather give that a shot than try to get a new device on short notice.

Update...

Uninstalled V4 (and V5 with it) and then re-installed V4. Everything working now. Not sure if having V5 on the machine even though it doesn't support a Ceton card was an issue. Fingers crossed this gets me to the end of the Olympics
