I'm having a weird problem with my channel icons in Kodi and was just looking for some guidance as to what to possibly check next in regards to troubleshooting

ISSUE:

Not ALL ... But most channels are displaying the incorrect channel icon

WHAT STEPS I HAVE TAKEN:

multiple listed below
1. I have gone into to Kodi settings > PVR settings > Client specific settings > NextPVR > refreshed cache (didn't see a clear cache option, just refresh)
2. I have deleted the "thumbnails" and "texture.db" folders from Android data inside the device storage
3. I have tried deleting all images in the media/channels folder in Public/NPVR and just added my own icon pack only
4. Clear cache from Kodi>restart>same exact icon images still appear (mostly all wrong)
5. So then I pasted all of the images that were originally in the media/channels folder (saved them for this reason) > deleted thumbnails and texture folder, cleared cache on Kodi>restart > same exact images appear
6. I am using an xmltv epg in the Web app
7. I have a temporary free trial and schedules direct login in the Web app ongoing
8. I have also used the "download channel icons" feature on the Web app
9. Nothing at all seems to change the icons in Kodi, nothing I've tried has updated or changed anything

--------------------

As an added note, I have my service installed in tivimate and every single channel has the correct icon associated with it in there (not sure if that means anything or if that info would matter).

--------------------

I am attaching the latest log, although I'm not sure the log is needed in this question

-------------------

What else could I possibly check? .... Thanks.

Are the icons showing correctly in the NextPVR web app?

Yes, Seems to be mostly all god in the Web App actually, even animated logos are showing as I see in the Tivimate application as well.

Ok good. Sounds like it's all sorted on the NextPVR side of things then.

From memory, I think in Kodi there was some PVR Setting -> Client Specific setting which allowed you to clear the Kodi cache.

873 and 874 seem to have to same trouble. I think it is GIGO.

Seeing you have 5000 channels showing lots of duplicates and VOD like channels I am not going to spend a lot of time on this this is not a PVR friendly install, so be more speciific about which channel is "bad". You do have to clear the cached channel icons every time you delete and readd in NextPVR I'd need the Kodi debug logs after you do the clear the icons in Kodi. (your step 1) because what I see here looks like Kodi is asking for the correct icon.

Ok, thank you. Yea, I see what you're saying about all the niche content and it not being PVR friendly. So, I went into NextPVrWeb App and Deleted alot of channel folders that I don't use cutting it in half virtually and sticking to just Sports/News/UK/CA/USA and smoe 24/7

I went back into Kodi, Went into PVR/Live TV Settnigs > Client Specific Settings > the ONLY thing related to cache there is "Refresh", no "Clear" or "Delete" option ....so I Hit Refresh and that dialogue goes away but that's all that happens, no notifications or anything, relaunch Kodi and still all the same LOGO's appear all wrong.

Yes it is refresh channel icons which deletes and redownloads them, I can see the re-download in the logs.

Still there is no Kodi debug log, or a name of a bad channel which I why I feel I am wasting my time.

FYI, the best way of doing it is when you initially import your channels from m3u url, and it shows you the list of channels (before hitting save), use the filter groups dropdown at the top to untick all groups, then only select the few groups you're really interested in.

Lots of things work much when you've got a few hundred channels vs several thousands

Ok thank you, I am working on the log and the exact channel examples now. Shouldn't be too much longer

So should I go back into the Web app and delete my service and start fresh and only select those or the way I did it currently is ok and will be fine?
