How do I handle weird start time?

In my EPG, I have a show that is scheduled to start at 8:59pm. I want to record that show and the show the occurs right before it. I have not found a way to resolve the conflict. I could record the first show and set a 60 minute post padding but that is quite a hack. I need a way to set a -1 pre padding.

Any thoughts?

There is currently no way around this other than manually scheduling the recording (ie 8:00pm - 8:59pm).
