npvr stopped returning computer to hibernate state when recording finished

When a recording is scheduled when the computer is in hibernate state NextPVR no longer returns the computer to hibernate state when recording is finished just leaves the computer running. This is a recent development.

NextPVR doesn't set when a computer sleeps or hibernates, it only sets some a wake up times. Check you Windows power management settings to see what might be happening.

As Martin said, there is a high possibility that the hardware may not support hibernation mode, so turn on your computer for a smoother installation

I had been using hibernate successfully as a substitute for sleep mode. I found out that recently Dell installed a firmware update in the BIOS which I believe was the source of the change. Manually taking hibernate out of the S5 category may have corrected the situation but I opted to not mess with the BIOS settings and instead use the sleep mode which alleviated the situation.
