I'm running a USB Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD DVBT Tuner on a WIN10 pc, I don't recall any problems with it or the pc crashing, both very reliable. PC has run 24/7 (with occasional reboots for software updates,  mods etc) for years and the tuner has been running nearly 2 years 24/7. Can't remember which drivers it uses, can check if needed.

Edit.
Screenshots of the driver I use attached

Hi, thanks for the updates. It does look like the Hauppage drivers are at least part of the problem. The problem is a physical PC crash due to unhandled exceptions in kernel mode in EMBDA64.sys, but because it's the TV tuners that's why it sometimes shows up as an NPVR fault.

My drivers were way out of date - auto-update doesn't do anything on them. I have now manually updates to the latest 2024 drivers and we'll see if that improves matters.

Thanks

Crashed again last night. No crashdump file or anything useful in the Windows logs. Minidump file again shows a bug check in EMBDA64.sys

I've attached the NPVR logs. I can't see anything obvious, but I'd appreciate someone who knows taking a look to see if it's reporting any diagnostic.

I'm not sure what is my best next step, so any advice gratefully received. Should I try running with just one of the tuners in turn?

Thanks, Andrew

Thanks for that info - I'm going to track down the driver version that you have, and if/when I next see a failure I'll overwrite my later drivers. If you choose to update your drivers I strongly suggest a good backup before you do so.

Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD (bulk mode) - appears twice as it's a QuadHD card.

@andrewj did you follow my suggestions here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid595765 a visual check of the channels wouldn't be enough you would have you'd have to follow those steps update steps.

Also it appears to fail on this frequency

Checking <frequency>746000</frequency><bandwidth>8</bandwidth

for a channel not configured for SD. Can you determine if Live TV can play on that frequency on tuner 2 and on tuner 1

I thought that in the UK all the 700MHZ band had been cleared of all TV and it was handed over for mobile phone use ?

I think my channel list is completely messed up, so I'll have to delete and refresh it. Before I do so, is there any way in the new version:
1. To export the channel list for 1 tuner and import it for the others. In the old unified system this was easy with "export" and "import" buttons below the devices, but I can't see how to do it now.
2. To sort the channels in a channel group. In the old version this was simple drag and drop. Can you do it now, and if so how?

Thanks

1. I already told you the way to do tuner 2 earlier https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid595765 I assumed you did that.

2. There is a config.xml entry <SortChannelGroups>true</SortChannelGroups> so they should already be sorted (but I don't know the key) If you want them in entry order you would use false.

I was confused with this line in your logs though since you are a Schedules Direct user

2024-11-12 02:56:24.881 [DEBUG][34] 146 channels configured to use DVB-EPG

Before copying you might as well map SD that don't automap.

They way you're supposed to do this, if you delete all the channels from the other tuners, and setup one tuner with the channels you want, then when you click the to setup the other empty tuners, accept it's offer to copy the channels from the existing tuner. Much easier and quicker.

It's never been possible to sort channels in a channel group. They were always just in channel number order.
