Hi Martin,
Toggling the setting in the config.xml worked to remove the incorrect entries.

I ran Nextool on some videos today. They do not show as missing but they do not play. I thought they had run ok yesterday.

Note that this morning my display was not working so I had to power the system off then on. It turned out the displayport cable had come loose.

The listing shows the correct date recorded and length and I can download it and play it with VLC or media player. It does say [Import] in the listings.

If I click on play in NextPVR then it briefly shows the correct length at the right of the progress bar then the length switches to aN:aN:aN

I have attached the logs that changed when I ran Nexttool and then tried to play the imported videos.

Any idea how to fix?

The web player is not a good test of the server or NextTool. Try with yauiclient and if it has issues we can talk.

Hi Martin,
The videos do play in NextPVR client.

I see that they also play in the web viewer on Edge but not in the web viewer on Firefox. I must have used Edge yesterday and Firefox today.

I did not install yaInstaller.exe because the SHA256 sum that I get : 23E509B415A429F1B06C7445ECC017358AEF9F0B517E59224299DB2DC859DCC2 does not match the one on the web page: 323470640e352c657a71a4dcde512b34a388784fe2176d2328a3ac2436990e3b

I also have a lot of files that NextTool does not import.

They are in formats like:

24-(Day 7_ 2_00PM - 3_00PM)-2009-02-02-0.avi
Absolute Power-2008-02-18-0.avi
Airport-2013-05-09-0.mp4
30 Rock-(Succession)-2011-12-31-0.mp4

They were recorded using BeyondTV. All the BeyondTV XML files were deleted long ago.

Is there any way for NextTool to import them?

Thanks

I guess the sha256 sum might be wrong on the wiki not even sure if it the version here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid593858 Since only one person downloaded it I don't spend much time on it. I only suggested it because it plays more file types with the NextPVR protocol even some non FEL Dolby Vision.

I don't (and won't) support parsing that filename but it still should come in but I would think they should import if you can send a link to a file I can see why, if the logs don't show anything.

Martin.

I am thinking to use a batch renamer to change the names to a supported format. I do think though that it would be useful to support 4 digit years inthe names since when I look at a name teat ends in 12-11-10 then I do not know which is which

I tried changing the names of some files to see if NextTool would import them but no luck so far. Any suggestions how to fix the file name formats so they are processed??

Case 1: switched -YYYY-MM-DD-0 to _YYYY-MM-DD

12/03/2013  09:59 PM      295,429,023 30 Rock-(Lee Marvin vs. Derek Jeter)_2011-12-30.mp4
12/03/2013  09:59 PM      295,232,399 30 Rock-(Succession)_2011-12-31.mp4
              2 File(s)    590,661,422 bytes

C:\Program Files\NextPVR>NextTool import "\\192.168.2.1\Video\30_Rock"
NEXTPVR_INSTALLDIR C:\Program Files\NextPVR\
NEXTPVR_DATADIR C:\Program Files\NextPVR\data\
NEXTPVR_DATADIR_USERDATA C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\
Folder: 30_Rock

C:\Program Files\NextPVR>dir \\192.168.2.1\Video\30_Rock
Volume in drive \\192.168.2.1\Video is Video

Case 2: Changed dates to _YY-MM-DD

12/03/2013  09:59 PM      295,429,023 30 Rock-(Lee Marvin vs. Derek Jeter)_11-12-30.mp4
12/03/2013  09:59 PM      295,232,399 30 Rock-(Succession)_11-12-31.mp4
              2 File(s)    590,661,422 bytes

C:\Program Files\NextPVR>NextTool import "\\192.168.2.1\Video\30_Rock"
NEXTPVR_INSTALLDIR C:\Program Files\NextPVR\
NEXTPVR_DATADIR C:\Program Files\NextPVR\data\

The purpose the recording importer is more to get movie year and s/e info and import ts files I didn't want to import all the videos that users might have and show as single files. Recording should be grouped by series, 30 Rock as an example. NextPVR.exe and UI clients as well as Kodi have video libraries for relatively random lists.

Instead of renaming the, you could create nfo files if you don't have s/e or year, and at least get some info into the subtitle. A minimum one without S/E might be:

Code:
<tvshow>
    <showtitle>30 Rock</showtitle>
     <tagline>Lee Marvin vs. Derek Jeter</tagline>
</tvshow>

I do not completely follow.

Some of the example names I gave were for movies, but I do have a lot of series that were recorded by  BeyondTV.  I could probably  manually manually move them to separate directories by season.  It would be nice to get them into the NextPVR catalog without having to do a lot of manual editing.

Are you suggesting that I do not bother trying to import them into NextPVR, but instead use a different program like Kodi to view videos that are not listed in the NextPVR catalog and then create nfo files for each video file so that Kodi would display that information?

I do already use Kodi to watch them and can also play with Kodi the files that NextPVR but then I do not see the descriptions or thumbnails that NextPVR recorded.

I can use the NextPVR Kodi plugin but then I cannot see the files there that are not in Kodi.

Anything recording by NextPVR will be parsed in properly, it is your older video collection I am talking. Because there name follows no supported format they won't show up as series so you will have one big list of recordings, maybe you are used to that I don't know how you had the before. There is no way for NextPVR to get meta art etc so I feel those starry nights in the browser will look like crap.

If you are a collector of decades old recordings I guess I am saying yes you probably are better off properly naming them, it doesn't look like you are not going to be deleting them anytime soon. For me the nfo file would be easier you could use a template and save as etc. Then at least they are grouped by series. Really curating the with S/E would be a bit of work too.

Hi Martin,
Maybe I am not understanding the NextTool documentation. The NextTool documentation says that supported file name formats are

ShowName_YYMMDD
ShowName_YY-MM-DD
Showname.S##E##
Showname.S##E##.Episodename
Moviename(yyyy)

I modified my files to names like 30 Rock-(Succession)_11-12-31.mp4 Is this the ShowName_YY-MM-DD format or does teh extra dash casue a problem?
