Hi
Is there a possibility how I can update the media database to avoid multiple recordings. Huh
Because of a new installation of nextpvr, it seems all the old recordings were no longer recognized by the system.
(Movies which are already captured are now planning for a capture again in the future.) Confused
Would be great to know how which approach is the best to tackle that issue. Huh

Thanks!

Actually I thought about it and if you want to PM me a link to your database (it will contain sensitive IPTV account data) I would be able to tell from your deleted entries.

Hi Martin, how can I give you the link to the database? Where can I find it? Or is there an option to scan all the movies in the recording folder and subfolders to avoid multiple recordings? (I think this feature would be very helpful not only in case of a new installation. It would be great to hear from you. - Thanks.

The issue seems to be determining if a movie is unique,

The file itself in a typical Linux installation will be /var/opt/nextpvr/npvr.db3 Windows users have access to OneDrive perhaps you have a it on another PC but there are other transfer mechanisms like GoogleDrive and filetransfer.io Sites like filetransfer.io allow setting a password but do you trust that? You call also just password protect a zip file and put that on filetransfer.io. Then you can PM me a link and a password.

Ok the database is fine and I think I partially misunderstood the question.  This is probably not new behaviour in v7 it a  general question.

Basically the issue is what I have been saying to you, are getting minimal data from some source no year and no genre so NextPVR can't  tell in a safe way that is unique.  Substitute "The Simpsons" in that first example  block as an example.

The only way you might be able to able to create and experiment with a sqlite3 script that runs in PostLoadEpg.sh before NextPVR does it's scheduling that fakes in the unique_id for your situation.  Condition might be length or perhaps MPAA codes based on that one example.

Code:
update epg_event set unique_id = title where unique_id = "" and condition

Note when I look at this I think you have bad sql here

Code:
<AdvancedRules>(title like '%Indiana Jones AND description like '%Harrison Ford%')</AdvancedRules></Rules>

Hi Martin,

I will take a look on it. Thank you for the help.
Sorry, but it seems I need help again.
My previous question on that post was quite different. I'm searching on the solutions / possibility to let the database know what for movies are already recorded and should not record again. (especially with rules for recording)
It seems that after a new installation (a new database) the system don't know what for movie were recorded and stored on the hard drive on the previous system. That's also a reason why movies were captured twice.
What can I do to avoid it?

Thanks !

This seems like a trick question, with an empty database how would you expect NextPVR to know what movies you have stored on hard disks or watched and erased?

Truth be told there is a way but you would need to manually import your existing recordings with the NextTool utility
https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/NextTool If these are NextPVR recordings and you have enabled saving external XML file files to save the metadata with the recording it should work. If not assuming the files have been named the why the utility expects the Moviename (year) they will be imported, but the utility doesn't set the unique id but I will address that for the upcoming release.
