Hello,

I've found a thread similar to what I'm looking for but it was in 2016 so I would like to know if something change since? In 2016, Sub wrote:

Quote:NextPVR knows if you're recording a movie, but it doesn't do anything differently because of it.

There is nothing to stop you setting up two recording directories, 'movies' and 'shows', and scheduling movies to record to the 'movies' directory, and have everything else defaulting to 'shows'.

I'm having two distinct storage unit, one for movies and the second one for TV Shows. Right now, I can manually select in which place to put the recording but as NextPVR already knows if it's a movie or a TV Shows, I suppose it could select the proper directory without me having to go into the advanced mode.

So, two questions. Is it still a manual process like it was in 2016?

If so, is there a way to get the information, let say after the recording is made to have a script to move the recording to the proper place based on the information NextPVR has on that recording?

BTW, I'm on linux so more looking into a way to script it. A windows executable would not help much.

Thank you.

Still manual, NextPVR only know it is a movie with specific guide source.

If you do more one-off movies then TV set the default for the movie folder.

And is there a way to interrogate NextPVR to get information about a specific title that was recorded?

I was looking at setting the default to one or the other but I do record both type and it would be more complicated to search for a recording that is not in the proper place to move it. So, for now, I'm recording in a third directory and move manually the stuff to the proper location. At least, I know everything in there is new stuff.

Thank you.

I don't get it, that seems like so much more work then 5 mouse clicks when you create the recording, and 50% of the time it will be correct.

Ok. I was thinking after the recording. But you are saying to have the default for movie so that when I select something to record, in advanced mode, I can then change it to TV Series. Sorry, I was not thinking it this way but you are correct that it's not such a big deal doing it this way.

Thank you.

This is basically how I do it (albeit in reverse).  I mostly record TV shows, but I do record movies from time to time.  I have a default location (recordings/TVShows) and a Movie location (recordings/Movies).  That lets me do some other stuff in the background to scan these into my Kodi library as either TV shows or Movies because I have separate Kodi sources with the respective paths.  It works really well.

Perhaps in a future version, the recording type, Movie/Show etc could be passed as a number in the parameter list to Postprocessing.
