I recently had a problem with recorded files becoming huge - 30 Gb for each half-hour part of a series I recorded. Brought to my attention when the hard disk was full and things started to go wrong. To compound my troubles it was impossible to delete the files,I eventually fixed this by restarting the NPVR service.
I have made some rcording since, and things seem to be back to normal (5 Gb for a 1-hour recording). Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a way to avoid a repetition in the future?

There was a major issue with digital tuners in Windows in v7 that could leave a file locked after recording or an EPG scan. I never saw large files in the logs but that issue could also result in multiple copies of the same show being recorded and I suppose it is possible it could have left them recording without stopping.

If you see the issue with 7.0.1 send the logs.

Thank you very much for your response. My latest large recording is 70+ Gb. I did a reinstall previous to that recording, am using 7.01. My logs are attached.

OK Live TV and 2 recordings failed to stop, sub will need to check. A VPN or firewall would also cause this but I would have expected the morning EPG not to start and that was fine.
