I think I may have screwed up this time....

I bought these two remotes

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07577WXTW/ref...RhaWw&th=1

https://www.amazon.com/BuzzTV-IR-100L-Lu...merReviews

to try out with my Chromecast With Google TV uidroid setup & as they said they had RF connect ability I expected they would come with a USB RF receiver but they didn't.

I have had a play trying to pair them with the CCWGTV but no luck so far, I expect because I have no idea what buttons need to be pressed on the remotes to go into pairing mode. I also haven't been able to find anything helpful with a web search. Anyone got any idea what I can try??

Typically you don't pair RF, you pair BT (Bluetooth) so the CCWGTV won't be able to use them. I don't think it has an IR receiver either.

Send them back to Amazon.

Yeah I thought I had screwed up.

Still looking for a decent remote for uidroid though... I would have thought by now we would have had a good long list of remotes (with the number keys etc) to pick from that would work.

You didn't make things easy for yourself by buying a player with no USB ports, no IR and probably the worst remote for PVR available.

Why do you expect a long list of remotes? For the PC it has always just been Hauppauge and MCE remote and these are getting harder not easier to recommend.

Most cheap Android boxes come with generic IR remotes that have number keys, it is the mass market consumer boxes that use limited remotes now and people prefer voice control, app buttons, not numbers. The TiVo 4K with remote was probably the best PVR combo for uidroid users wanting the numbers keys especially for the money. Now probably that honour goes to the Homatics, RockTEk G2 and Nokia family https://www.avsforum.com/threads/homatic...d.3270060/ with the advance remote.

Basically this is why sub has to move to thumbnails.

For after market I will stick with the Auvipal I have recommended here for RF. The BT variant needs BT 5 so is not universal I will check my G20BTS with the Chromecast to see how it pairs, I don't like how it eats batteries.

So my G20S Pro (I had the model number wrong remote paired fine with the CCCWGTV with BT and all the keys worked as expected. This is the one I have https://www.amazon.com/Backlit-Wireless-...B0CYBX2HGY be careful there are many models and not all have BT. I wrote about it earlier https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid573885

Don't expect voice to work and you might need to get used to turning off the air mouse (although it will work for basic thing) but it is better than the stock remote IMO. I like the feel of the Auvipal better but this is definitely useful especially with RF, IR and BT.

This is the one that I'm using as a 2nd remote on my living room TiVo 4K. (You can only pair 1 actual TiVo remote with a TiVo 4K, so to have 2 remotes paired with it, I had to get a non-TiVo remote.)

I use a G7BTS remote with uidroid and my NVidia Shield. Works pretty good for me. The air mouse is off by default when it starts up. Also has a rechargeable battery which is nice.

Doesn't have voice control though.

The G7BTS looks like the one I called AuviPal. I agree being rechargeable is nice. The keyboard is handy too plus I use the programmable IR to power up devices.

I think the CCWGTV is only BT 4.2 though and I didn't try and test it.

Thanks for those that replied it helped quite a bit.

I do have USB capability for the CCWGTV as I use the USB-C ethernet hub to connect the RF receiver (which was what I thought I was going to do with those remotes I bought as they said they were RF + wireless + IR but they didn't come with RF receivers).

So after thinking about it & discussing it with the Boss we decided to get a couple of the 'G20S Pro Plus' that Martin linked for her (which I must order) as she likes her remote less cluttered & for me on finally thinking to ask her if she was having multiple button responses when using in production her 'BuzzTV ARQ-100' remote & finding out she wasn't I wondered if the one I was using was faulty so I hooked up a spare I had & a fortnight later with a good amount of use I have not had one multiple button response or any other problem with it (apart from the stupid air mouse activating by itself a couple of times).... so it looks like the one I was using is faulty, I see now there are a few reports of this problem in the feedback for them.

Also I actually like the 'BuzzTV ARQ-100' to use as because it is RF & you don't have to point directly at the receiver I put the remote on the arm of my chair (not held in my hand) & press the buttons I also quite like the button layout as uidroid uses the ch-up ch-dn as pg-up pg-dn & the back button is pretty much straight above them, it also like that it has a stop button which is directly below & the number keys being above (which I was dubious about before actually using them) make them easy to use also. So as long as it stays this way all is good with me on the remote front now.

That seems like a nice remote if it works via RF I just ordered one, to compare with the G9
