Sorry, I tell a lie. One tuner is broken so I disabled it, deleted EPG and recreated it and I see the programme name and programme synopsis. However, it's all in Chinese (which I cannot read) but in the past, the programme name was always English and the synopsis was mixture of English and Chinese. Does that require a setting in the config xml file? In version 6, it wasn't like that and I had programme names in English.

Even in 6 on Linux it is only Chinese for me so I am guessing on Windows sub was appending both languages. Sub is looking on how to configure this.

Hi, here is a link of a .ts file that originated from a channel that contains Chinese characters:

https://icedrive.net/s/fGCSu98hyzvA67yA6XfhS3x7CA4k

Thanks I actually mistyped I wanted an example that mixed English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) that last sample was only two different  Chinese encodings on 4 channels.

That sample was 0 bytes so I couldn't check it.

Martin

Hey, please try this https://icedrive.net/s/AhxxZhxtSftVQyPvgi738TaFAfDZ

That mux usually has a mixture of Chinese and English in the programme synopsis.

Ok I have found some in the first sample but they are actually logic mistakes. Can you give me a title or description to search?

ManicsMan, give this one a go. You may need to add <PreferredLangDVBEPG>eng</PreferredLangDVBEPG> in the <General> section of config.xml if you don't already have it.

I am not sure what to search on. Did you mean the TV channels? If so, you could search for "Jade" or "Pearl". In any case, the latest nshared.dll from sub has worked a treat. TV programme names and synopsis are shown in English where appropriate and in Chinese, if English is not available. That's exactly how it was with version 6. Many thanks for the help!

Sub, thank you for the file. Everything works exactly how I expected. Thank you very much for your efforts. It's now just like version 6 on the Windows version. Many thanks to yourself and Martin. Excellent stuff. When I get round to it (some time this weekend), I'll go to the donation page and buy you both a beer, because the support here has been nothing short of first class!

Great, no worries about samples you had said "The Chinese speaking channels would show both English and Chinese characters. This was consistent with how the TV's EPG would work." but I couldn't find examples like that, its was one or the other in the description, sometimes the titles were mixed.
