There username/password are only really used for the web admin.
The iOS and tvOS apps use the web api, which uses authentication derived from the pin code instead. You can specify the PIN in this apps when manually adding a server.

(Long time no see!)
I know right. I’m still here. Play with nextpvr on and off.
Are you aware any limitations with the pins to a backend system? I’ve got a 6 digit pin and can’t get the iOS app to connect.
Logging in to the web ui and downloading the logs it seems it’s saying invalid session.
I'm not aware of any limitation with the length of the pin.
I just went to test it with a 6 digit pin, and got sucked down a whole of having to update versions of development tools, and deployment targets etc, to install on the phone a few weeks ago, and then found the two supporting libraries need to be update etc. I kind of ran out of time right now, but will continue trying to get that installed after my work day.
FYI, I tested a 6 digit pin with the iOS app and connected fine
I'm wondering if the you iOS app is using a stored version of the server with incorrect server details. ie, start the app, swipe right to left across all the servers, hit 'add server' to add it again, then try clicking on the server.
