I built the latest version of NextPVR server on Docker, on my NAS. From web UI, I can access the port 8866 and everything is working fine. The recordings and live TV, no problem. I even tested the access to NextPVR on another device and again remotely, no issue.

However, when I open my Apple TV on my LAN, it cannot find my server. Despite the fact that my PC or my browser on my iPad are accessing the server and my NAS just fine.

No idea what's happening. Before, when my NextPVR server was on Windows, my Apple TV was able to see it. Now, it cannot see...I don't know...my NAS?

Maybe a missing HOST_IP variable on Docker https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid522449

The instructions aren't clear that this is for auto discovery as well as legacy HDHR support.

You can also manually add a server if it doesn't find it automatically. (the HOST_IP advice should get it working though)

Thank you! I am a newbie with Docker though, I used Portainer to build up my NextPVR server.

Martin, can you tell me the exact steps I need to do (and the command line) in the container console in Portainer? Also, do I need to stop the container from running while doing this? I really don't want to lose all my set-up. Except Apple TV, all the other devices are playing nicely with NextPVR. Thank you!

I cannot add it though, it just does not see my host IP. Plus, even if I am on LAN, is asking a remote PIN.

If you can access the web UI from another machine on the same network as your Apple TV, then there should be no reason the app can't connect (though you might need to manually add it if it doesn't auto-discover). Just make sure you've entered the correct pin and IP address when you add the server.

If you can't get it to connect, post the NextPVR logs and I'll check the request is making it that far.

I can't see any sign of an attempted login from the Apple TV app, which makes me think you haven't entered the correct IP address when manually adding it.

The IP is correct. It's not an IP problem, it's a container in Docker issue. Apple TV can see my Plex Media Server which is also installed on my NAS but outside Docker (as a native app). However, it cannot see my NextPVR server because its container is running on ''bridge'' network or because of some other issue with Host IP in Docker.

I'm gonna read some more to see how to solve it.

Did you follow the link I provide that showed how to setup the HOST_IP ? If you set that up you also need to confirm that you have the udp 16891 port correctly.
