@mvallevand - noted your suggestion to filter out groups but there is a problem with the interface for iptv in nextpvr. The two UK iptv providers I am trialling require one to enter the url for server the u/n and p/w then inport - it produces a list some 187 groups and 9500 channels . 'filter by channel group' simply offers 'select all or all channels. there is another clickable link which says '187 selected' clicking on this produces a list of what I assume are channel groups but it will not scroll so one can only see the top 20 inn the list - the list obviously has 187 in it - trying to scroll using arrow keys or two fingers on touch pad keeps returning to the - as with the UI for selecting channels from a physical device it is excruciatingly inefficient - one cannot multiple select - given that iptv often has an entry for a single sporting event and therefore one wants to delete loads then selecting one by one is a poor UI. (whinge over) General point - the group listbox doesnt work so one is forced to select from thousands of channels one by one - or am I missing something btw what are HEVC channels?

You should use a desktop browser to configure it.

Since you wrote "touch" I assumed phone or tablet. Did you try clicking a mouse? If so try another browser, I noticed another recent thread where a Chrome users on macOS had to switch to Safari.

thanks for the screenshot - yes thats the stage I am talking about. but the white list box does not have a scroll indicator and if one tries to use mouse/touchpad or up-down arrow the list doesn't scroll. also as in other npvr list boxes the checkbox and text arrangement is very limited when it comes to dealing with long lists there's no sorting nor multiple select. its the same with epg selection using something like schedules direct - all the channels are listed in numerical order and one has to have endless patience to scroll through and eyeball the correct one - no sorting no searching. I guess its the UI environment NPVR is developed in which has limited options for list boxes/combo-boxes/picker/filter selection etc. back to the main issue - the absence of a working scroll on the group selection of channels for IPTV I use chrome and edge - same problem on both no proper scrolling- just downloading firefox to see if it different but I'm timed out on my trials for several IPTV sources right now. The essence of the problem is, it seems to me when doing a trial, most IPTV sources have thousands of channels, few of them of interest to any one individual. Therefore one needs to be able to drill down with all the usual tools one would expect in a good UI to quickly eliminate the irrelevant. pls correct me if Im wrong but although there is a link to 'filter' there is no logical or useful way to filter - in my experience clicking on the so called 'filter' just shows 2 check boxes 'all' or 'all channels' One cant for example type in 'UK' to see just UK related channels - yes one can go to the channel groups (if it scrolled) but even here one is reduced to clicking one by one some hundreds of entries. I think I think Ill have to give up on this - there's not enough hours in a day

And you tried to suggestion to try different browsers, Firefox, Chrome Edge and maybe Safari?

If so maybe you don't allow JavaScript fully.

If you go here https://github.com/iptv-org/iptv/?tab=readme-ov-file scroll down and expand the "grouped by country" section then scroll down to UK, you can copy the m3u link, that will give you around 1000 free UK channels , possibly not the ones you want but good enough for testing purposes (no password or time limitation).
The file loads almost instantly, everything is scrollable/selectable and I can add/remove channels OK.
I've tested on Win10 & 11 (2 different PC's) with Chrome, Edge, Firefox & Waterfox works fine on all. It would appear that it's something with your setup/browser that is causing the problem

@mvallevand and @jimil -tx your contrib appreciated - yes ive got javascript enabled (I use it on some of my own intranet projs) and it is fully enabled on edge and chrome but firefox is the only browser which renders the listbox scroll correctly, now ive installed it. Still not a very good UI but hey the rest of npvr is stellar
that m3u from github was a godsend and works as you say - great for testing - peculiar selection of channels for UK but it'll help me try to decide which iptv to subscribe to - @jimil as you are in UK do you have any suggestions for iptv services?? (preferences are the usual freesat stuff - not really interested in any sport)

There are m3u proxies available like Threadfin that allow managing the ridiculous m3u lists before they arrive in NextPVR. NextPVR has one developer (sub). IPTV management itself is a full time job but secondary to all the true PVR work that NextPVR can do.

As I alluded to earlier any discussion about pirate IPTV subscriptions should not take place on this forum.
