It might be worth temporarily copying hcwirblast.dll into the same directory as HaupBlast.exe

I, too, am having a channel change problem with HDPVR 2.

After reading this thread and trying the suggestions, I've discovered that if I execute the following command while in the c:\Program Files\NextPVR folder, the channel on the settop box will change: HaupBlast.exe 502.2. But the channel will not change if I click that same channel in NextPVR.

I've attached the logs after the following steps:

-Restart the NextPVR Service
-Launch the web app
-Go to Channels page
-Click channel 502.2

The "xxx.2" notation directs NextPVR to use the HDPVR 2.

I hope you can help find a solution.

Thanks...JohnC

You are running the HaupBlast from a V4 folder which seems to negate your comment and testing

Interesting point, Martin. Only v7 is installed.

When I executed NPVRSetup.exe(x86), the NextPVR folder was created in the Program Files folder indicating to me that V7 is an x64 architecture. I've discovered that HaupBlast.exe, in that folder, is an x86 architecture.

Could mixing architectures be my problem? Does the web app, running in an x64 browser, use a different technique to drive the IR blaster? The Desktop App also does not change channels. Is the web app compatible the Firefox browser?

I am guessing that you copied over your npvr.db3 then

2025-06-18 15:38:46.453 [INFO][4] Running blaster: C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\HaupBlast.exe 502
2025-06-18 15:38:46.453 [INFO][4] blaster executable not found

and you have to remove your channels and rescan to use the correct file.

That is excellent news, Martin! I did, indeed, copy the DB from the old machine.

I looked for an occurrence of the blaster executable path in config.xml and found nothing. I will correct its appearance in the DB.

Finally, you mentioned re-scanning: I can't scan for DRM channels and need to enter that info manually. I've found no way to enter HDPVR-dependent DRM channels in NextPVR versions 5 and up.

Thanks for your help.

DRM? Does your STB have HDCP disabled only on certain channels? I've not heard that before I thought it was always subscription based.

I am pretty sure NextPVR including v4, only presented all the channels in the tuning list as SD cannot tell which channels you subscribe too.

For a rescan I mean scan, untick all and add only the channels that you want. Typically you can tell the ones you have selected because they will be on bogus channel numbers that are out of order. I don't have Windows HDPVR setup to confirm but that is how extras do it.

In your case for a Windows HDPVR you would have needed to hit the trash can to empty the database and scanned which would set the blaster in the database.

I changed the DB to use the correct path to the HaupBlast.exe executable and channels are changing! Thank you...thank you...thank you!

My experience was that a V4 channel scan did not include DRM channels and that was fine for the DCR-3250 cable card tuner. But I could only get DRM channels from the HDMI input to the HDPVR2. V4 allowed me to manually enter those. And the blaster path was in config.xml.

I'm getting from you that V7 gets the channel list from my subscription to Schedules Direct. Sounds reasonable. Since SD doesn't know which channels are DRM, DRM channels would be included but V7 doesn't know how to tune them. Is there a way to do that?
