I turned preview off, but it is not any better. Instead of a black screen, it tells me that there are no tuners available. I am attaching the RecordingService log. The graph is also still the same. No video encoder and no mux.

mmm, i think I may know what needs to be changed. To double-check can you send my your config logs created when you open up the capture source configuration dialog. They'll contain more details about your card's capabilites, etc.

Hi guys,

It seems moonlight did not make it and the encoders can't be downloaded from their site any longer. Anyone know where I can get this now?

Where has the Moonlight Encoder gone? It can't be downloaded anymore. I have the Elecard one but it does not appear in the "Video Encoder" drop down.

Anyone have an alternate source for the Moonlight?

ignore this. just read that moonlight is defunct.

So, the question instead is why doesn't the Elecard encoder I installed appear in the Video Encoder dropdown. I have LiveTV preview but nothing more.

Appologies to all...newbie, didn't read the whole 66 pages of the thread, so didn't find the kludge in the config-recorders.xml posted. Sorry, got the dropdown now. Smile

Okay, excellent, I managed to get the WDM recorder working for the nividia WDM Capture device using the Elecard encoder. However the performance is appalling on an S-video PAL input...uses all 100% of my P4-3.2GHz with the obvious resulting frame loss. Sad

This is strange because the NeroTV evaluation I am also running on exactly the same machine runs with very low CPU and perfectly acceptable quality and no lost frames. Must have a far better internal encoder.

Not really sure where I should start troubleshooting this one...

I'd really like GB-PVR to be a one stop shop for both analog (the nvidia) and digital (a DVB card), but if this encoder is the only thing that can be used then I'm going to have two pieces of software

Might try the LEAD Mpeg-2 encoder to see if that is any better.

Try configure the quality settings in the configuration section, you might be able to drop the video size and get some cpu back Smile
