That's good and bad. Maybe go into /opt/nextpvr/system/wwwroot/epf.html and change line 52 from

<input id="schedulesDirectPassword" class="form-control col-8 fake-pwd" placeholder="SD Password" autocomplete="off">

to

<input id="schedulesDirectPassword" class="form-control col-8 col-8" placeholder="SD Password" autocomplete="off">

It mill make it easier to see things when you do this

- close NextPVR on both browsers
- start on one browser
- go to Settings->Guide
- you will see you can't just edit it (it is showing NOTCHANGED) you need to remove it and enter good credentials
- then hit the login to sync up everything.
- leave setting
- start other browser
- go to the Settings->Guide it should show your selected lineups. with NOTCHANGED showing as the password

Martin

I did this.  Once I finally got Firefox to reload from the source (instead of cache!) I saw "NOTCHANGED".  Once again, I entered my Schedules Direct username and password.  The config file timestamp changed to the current time.  However, the account information was not saved to config.xml.  After logging out from NextPVR on one computer (the other was already logged out) and logging back in, the Guide settings page shows "SD Username" and "NOTCHANGED" for username and password.

I tried setting the Schedules Direct username and password from Chrome instead and it still didn't save the account info to config.xml, although it did apparently update config.xml (i.e., the timestamp changed).

And you click the login button and the lineups show up?

It is always supposed to show NOTCHANGED unless you change it. Is the password empty in config.xml?

I'm not sure what you mean by "the lineups show up".  If I go to "TV Guide", I'm seeing programs until evening on Sunday Nov 2.
Under "Channels", I'm seeing the channels with programs for each channel.
I'm attaching a picture of the "Guide" settings page.

The only entry in config.xml matching "password" (ignoring case) is
Code:
<Password>5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99</Password>
I'm attaching config.xml.

I'm not sure where config.xml went.  I'll try again.

OK you found that.

I can't explain why they are missing the keys (I have never seen that before) I would run the deb installer with dpkg again but first delete /opt/nextpvr/system/data/Config-master-dont-edit.xml

and it should add any that are missing.

Thanks, Martin.  Still, it didn't make a difference.  I renamed the old Config-master-dont-edit.xml.  The installer installed a new one, but they're the same.  My Schedules Direct account settings still don't stick.

If I shutdown nextPVR, rename config.xml, and start nextPVR, will it create a new one from the master?  Then maybe I can just change any settings I need without having lost my device configuration (which is stored in the database, I think) and the recordings (which are stored as files presumably referred to in the database)?

I think that file would have the missing Schedules Direct keys (you may have edited it accidentally) but I I forgot one thing.

Could your stop the server and change config.xml from <CurrentVersion>7.0.3</CurrentVersion> to <CurrentVersion>7.0.2</CurrentVersion> and restart the server.

That did it, Martin!  Thank you.  SchedulesDirectUsername and SchedulesDirectPassword now appear in config.xml.  If I set my Schedules Direct username and password, log out and log in again, my username now appears on the Guide settings screen.  I expect that means NextPVR won't forget it later.  That's a big help.
