Failing to record - pipe stuck open?

Hi,

For the past few months I've been having an issue where NextPVR fails to record. I suspect it may be hardware or signal related rather than a NextPVR bug, but I'm hoping someone can help point me in the right direction.

It looks like the tuner is getting locked up. All recordings fail (resulting in 0KB files), I can’t watch live TV, the EPG update fails, and the NextPVR tray app shows a large number of open pipes (the number varies).

The only way to recover seems to be physically unplugging and re-inserting the tuner (Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD DVB) and restarting the NextPVR service.

I think this is happening after the PC sleeps and wakes up, although I’ve been using NextPVR since the GB-PVR days and have always used sleep/suspend without issues until recently.

Those are EPG updates not recordings. This all goes back to an EPG update on the 14th that failed because you were doing a recording at the same time as an EPG update. The next version of NextPVR has some more safeguards around conditions like that. To be fair 11:00 is not really a sate time to schedule the EPG update.

Ahh OK. I've probably had it set to 11am for years as nothing would have been recording at that time.

So do you think if I move the time or cancel that other scheduled recording it may work around it temporarily?

Yes I would change the time it is running at 11pm not am. I think you have some Graham Norton's recording at that time too.
