No captions watching Live TV from HDHOMERUN

When I watch Live TV from my HDHOMERUN using NextPVR there are no captions displayed. Same channel/same program/same time viewed with vlc can display captions.

Running NextPVR in Docker on Linux box.

First are you streaming vlc from your Docker or from the HDHR?

If you turn of VAAPI can you see the closed captions?

Also what is the NextPVRViewer user agent?

vlc directly from the HDHR on a Windows 11 machine.

I am using a custom viewer written in Electron, with lots of help from AI.

Captions are there with vaapi off, but they aren't as smooth as streaming directly from the HDHR with vlc, appearing in spurts.
I don't usually watch TV live, and when I do I use vlc,  but I thought I might give this a try so I can pause it.

For sure a transcoded stream needs PC powerful enough to keep up, but Direct Play clients like Kodi and some streaming boxes will allow pausing and timeshifting with closed captioning.
