Thumbnails on a different drive

I am built a new server using a minipc. The recordings will be on a 20TB usb drive. Is there a way to put thumbnails on the system ssd to avoid lag?

No, but what is the concern?

Lag in the thumbnails on skip forward. I want to move them from a usb spinning drive to a internal ssd. But I'm sure it's largely do to the old pc.

No, I figure thumbnail skipping will always be slow on a UI client, the API is not designed for this on a low end client, I recommend still using time based skipping for large skips and thumbnails for fine tuning. Comskip is the way to go in many cases
